During the war, LaVerne worked at Cushmans in the War Department working a drill press making the nose part of a bomb, also worked on a big machine that made the firing pin. LaVerne then started at Norden Laboratory from July of 1963 where she retired in December of 1982 as a Lab Assistant in Bio Tissue Culture. LaVerne enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Don D. Diehl Sr., daughter, JoAnn Eileen, son, Don D. Diehl, grandson, Shawn Diehl, two sisters and three brothers. Survivors include son, Jack Diehl of Clermont, FL, son, Mike Diehl and daughter-in-law Ann Diehl of Pueblo West, CO, daughter-in-law Linda Diehl of Olathe, KS, Granddaughter Michelle and husband Brandon Schwab of Clermont, FL, granddaughter Kelly and husband Chad Ebert of Lincoln, NE, great grandchildren, Ashley Hoffman, Oliva Schwab, Chris Diehl, Tayana Brick, Alexandria and Blake Ebert.
No Services will be scheduled for LaVerne. Cremation by Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, Burial by Wyuka Cemetery.
