Larry L. Shaw, age 86, of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away on April 7, 2024. Larry was born on July 29, 1937 in Lincoln to Ivan and Pearl Shaw. On October 1, 1957 he married Erma Shaw in Fort Worth, Texas. While serving in the United States Air Force, Larry was stationed in Cheyenne, WY, San Antonio, TX, Anchorage, AK, and Fort Worth, TX.
Larry was a dedicated employee of Control Data for over 40 years in Lincoln. In his spare time he volunteered as a coach for the Little Chiefs baseball team in the Belmont neighborhood, utilized his green thumb in the garden, cruised around in his '89 Mustang Cobra convertible, and cared for his precious chihuahua, Diva. Above all, he will be remembered for his friendly demeanor, effortlessly connecting with others, and the ability to talk to anyone.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tony Shaw; his parents, Ivan and Pearl Shaw; and his sister, Patty Herrington. He is survived by his wife, Erma; daughter, Laura Shaw; grandchildren Travis Shaw, Richard Lear Lutz, Lindsay Hart, and Tiffny Lutz Leibee; great grandchildren Ethan Shaw, Lillian Lutz, and Riley Lutz; special great granddaughters, Emma and Ellie Leibee; cherished cousin, Donna Clark; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Larry will be held Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Park and Cemetery, 6700 South 14th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68512. Family and friends will meet at Gate 2 prior to the graveside service. lincolnfh.com
