Karen was a dedicated employee at the Nebraska Department of Roads for almost 50 years. She was a loving, kind, and generous mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She loved Saturday morning coffee and bagels with her friends and family. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with those she loved.
Karen was a long-time member of Fellowship Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was strong in her faith, and she loved to teach others about God’s grace and salvation through Jesus.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents: Dean Sherwood and Ruth Springer Sherwood.
Karen is survived by her son and daughter in law, Jason and Kim Keeney McCord, her son Justin McCord, grandchildren; Jaley McCord, Kadynce McCord, and Camron Keeney, siblings; Kathy Lundquist, Pam Sherwood, Julie Morin, Timothy Sherwood, and Theresa Hoffman, many nieces and nephews, and special friend, Hadley Gilbertson.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2022, from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home
Funeral service will be held at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S 14th St., Lincoln, NE 68512 on Wednesday, November 2 at 10 A.M.
The service will be livestreamed. Memorials to the family or Fellowship Baptist Church.
