Jerry was born December 21, 1937 in Prescott, Iowa to Alvin and Grace (Eberly) Leach. Jerry was raised on a farm in rural Prescott. He graduated from Prescott High School in 1956. Jerry enlisted in the US Army after graduation in 1956 and served in Korea from 1956 to 1958. He then served in the Army reserves from 1958 to 1962. He moved to Lincoln, NE in 1960. His first marriage was in 1960, from this union brought his daughter Teresa Marie born in 1961. Jerry worked at BF Goodrich Tire and then Sears as an automotive manager and retired from Sears. After retirement Jerry continued to repair small appliances until he was 82 years old. Jerry married Carol DeBoer in April 1967 adding daughters Cindy, Susan and Julie DeBoer. Jerry and Carol were happily united until Carol's death in 2013. Jerry loved and worked hard for his family. He also loved camping and boating. He taught all his children and grandchildren how to fish, hunt and water ski.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Carol Leach, parents Alvin and Grace Leach, sister Dorothy Duff, brother Donald Leach and son-in-law Bob Schulenberg.
He is survived by his 4 daughters - Cindy (Gregg) Johnson of Lake Viking, MO, Sue (Lyle) Peterson of Paullina, IA, Julie (David) Wester of Paullina, IA, Teresa Aldridge of Elkhorn, NE. 18 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren.
Private family service to be held at a later date.
