Jeannette Margaretta Ives Taylor, 103, passed away on March 6, 2019. She was born at home on November 22, 1915 in Omaha, NE, to George P. and Clara Belle Ives. She graduated from Omaha Tech High School. Jeannette prided herself on her athletic interests and abilities. As a youth, she organized basketball and softball teams with her classmates, and loved to ice skate as well. Jeannette married Donald L. Taylor Sr. on January 1, 1939. They were married 59 years until Don’s passing in 1998. She was a stay at home mom to their three children; Donald Jr., Donna Jean and Deborah. Jeannette was very creative. She excelled in cake decorating, ceramics, baking and gift wrapping. Her intricate packages were featured on the television show, Hobbies Unlimited (KETV Omaha). Jeannette was a lifelong Lutheran and proud to be English. She was kind, caring, and committed to helping others. She was an incredible wife, mom, grandma, sister and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Left to mourn her passing are son and daughter in law, Donald Jr. and Karen Taylor of Denver, CO, daughter and son in law, Deborah and Mark Coyle of Lincoln; grandchildren, Matthew (Mary) Dorsey of Lincoln, Brian (Sybil) Howley of White Plains, NY, Christy Taylor of Lincoln, Mike (Becca) Taylor of Beaumont, CA, Erin Coyle of Lincoln, Doug Hanshew of Lincoln and Jason (Laura) Coyle of Lincoln; great-grandchildren, Aaron Flynn (Nikki White), Caitlyn Combs (Shelby Hunsche), Miranda and Morgan Dorsey, Taylor and Jordan Dozler, Elyse Coyle, Austin and Kelsey Coyle; great-great grandchildren, Izzy and Zoey Hunsche and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Donald L. Taylor Sr., daughter, Donna Jean Dorsey, granddaughter, Jennifer L. Dorsey Howley, her parents and all eight of her siblings. Services will be Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Sheridan Lutheran Church, 6955 Old Cheney with Pastor Greg Bouvier officiating. Lunch to follow the service. Interment will be on Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Park, please meet at Gate 2. Visitation will be on Monday, March 11 from 5 until 7 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St. Memorials have been suggested to Sheridan Lutheran Church, The Barnabas Project.
