Geraldine May Quandt - Ault, born on August 24, 1949, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 10, 2025 at the age of 75 in Lincoln, NE. Gerri brought an abundant amount of joy and laughter to those around her as she enjoyed a full life of pleasures.
Gerri is preceded in death by Husband, Dewy Ault; Husband Eugene Thompson; Sister, Patty Quandt; Step Daughter, Shelly Erhart; Nephew, Tim Quandt
Gerri was the second born of Walter Quandt and Evelyn Heider Quandt. She flourished and took pride in her family as well as her many accomplishments in life. Gerri was a jack of all trades and master of most.
Gerri held some pretty amazing jobs. In the early 70’s Gerri was a Dobson Bros Trainer. That's right, a woman telling a man how to drive a semi! She also worked as an apprentice Electrician with her husband, Dewy and after his death worked electric with Gene. Gerri was also on the Emerald School Board, owned a trucking company, raised sheep, food service coordinator, avid LARGE gardener with over 60 tomato plants at a time, ran Raymond Central concessions for years, drove bus at Raymond Central as well as LPS, flipped houses, LPS Safety Committee for Busses, as well as professional auction attender!
A woman of many talents, she would be the first person to let you know how to do something and how to do it correctly. She would outwork most of the men around her. On one specific occasion, there was a hay bale throwing contest in Lincoln of which she delivered the hay for the event and not to mention, she also beat all of the other men in the competition except for one….the mayor…which she thought it would be best to not throw her best against him.
If you weren’t using a chainsaw correctly, she would just take it from you and show you how.
Later on in her life she really enjoyed her BUS kids while working for LPS. She spoke highly of all “her” kids.
The last 4 years she has been dealing with Pulmonary Hypertension as well as a slew of other concerns. She said that she owes everything to her Mayo Clinic Doctor. Thank you Dr. Frantz and Mrs. Diane. While Gerri was dealing with this, her outlook on life was not skewed. She still had a positive attitude about life. Her walk with GOD always stayed positive.
She lived a full life and those that knew her will miss her. Her memories are always treasured. When you see white Wint-O-Green Lifesavers, think of: “Lifesavers for Life Savers. Thank you for everything you do!”
Thank you to everyone who had an impact on Gerri’s life.
Gerri is survived by her son Jason (Tamara) Ault, Beau Ault; Siblings; Allen (Carol) Quandt, Debra (Paul) Quandt-Smedra; Step Daughter; Penny; Sister-in-Law, Marlene; Nieces and Nephews; Greg, Stacy (Pat) Phelan, Jill, Jeff, Kyla (Ryan), Jenny (Kenzie) ; Grandchildren, Kendra (Dusty), Tiffany, Avriana, Michael, Evan, & Everett; Great Grandkids, Blake, Alexis, Jaxson, Harmony, Luke, William and numerous other relatives.
