Elmer “Donald” Lamb, age 91 of Lincoln, Sunday, August 31, 2014. Born in Reed Point, MT on October 28, 1922 to Guy and Nettie (Berrie) Lamb. Retired dispatcher for the BN Railroad with over 47 years of service. Don was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was a Navy veteran having served in WWII. He was a longtime member of the Second Baptist Church in Lincoln and the First Baptist church in Alliance, NE where he had lived for over 50 years. Don is survived by his children Gary (Alida) Lamb, Carolyn (Bob) Anderson, Jim (Teresa) Lamb; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years Vera; his parents; 4 brothers and a sister. A Celebration of Don’s life will be held at 7PM, Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St. Lincoln, NE. Visitation will be one hour before the celebration at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be Friday, September 5, 2014 at 1PM at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, NE. Memorials to the Second Baptist Church. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Tabitha Hospice and Sumner Place for the loving care that Don received from them.
