Dorothy Schnieber passed away on February 20, 2021 at the age of 91. She was born on November 1, 1929 in Leigh, Nebraska to Wesley and Helen (Thalken) Fowler. After moving to Lincoln she attended Lincoln High School and graduated in 1946. She was proud of her secretarial work at State Farm Insurance after she completed her training at the headquarters in Bloomington, Illinois. Dorothy married Glenn Schnieber on September 7, 1951 at First Presbyterian Church in Lincoln and has been a faithful member since then. She and Glenn owned Schnieber Fine Foods for over thirty years. Dorothy volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Leader, Prescott Elementary Paragraph editor and Prescott P.T.A. lifetime member. She also volunteered for the Lincoln General Hospital Nourishment Cart and Meals On Wheels for many years. She was a deacon at First Presbyterian and served on many committees. She still enjoyed crossword puzzles and played in bridge groups for years. Family was most important to her and her tradition of home cooked Sunday night dinners was her way of bringing everyone together. She was cherished by her family and will be truly missed. Dorothy is survived by four children; sons Steve (Teri) of Lincoln and Randy (Ann) of Omaha; daughters Peggy (Gene) Knoche and Pam (Mike) Boyle both of Lincoln; sisters Florence Hill of Lincoln; Marilyn (Keith) Graham of Olathe, Kansas, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, her parents and her brother Frank. A public Visitation with family will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2021, 5-7 p.m., at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. 6800 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE. Masks are required along with social distancing. Private Family Funeral Service will be Thursday, February 25, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. The Service will be private but will be viewable to the public via livestream.
