Dorothy Loos, age 101, of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023. She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on August 28, 1921 to Henry Yakel and Antonette Rehm. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1940. From there she worked at Yakel Grocery and Dells Grocery. She married Jacob Loos Jr. on February 21, 1946. From this union came three sons, Gregory, Roger, and Randy.
She was a sweet lady who loved everyone, her family, and her church, Friedens Lutheran Church. She would always greet you with a smile. She shared her secret to longevity, which was to "live life to the fullest. Family is very important. Just enjoy life and be a good parent." She loved gardening, and was very proud of the flowers she grew in her yard.
She will be greatly missed by many.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jacob, son Randy, and three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her two sons Gregory (Marjorie) Loos and Roger (Pat) Loos, both of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandchildren Allen (Carie) Loos and Brian (Angie) Loos of Lincoln, Nebraska, Kristina (Kevin) Albert of Louisville, Nebraska, Melissa (Dain) Neater of Lincoln, Nebraska, Shannon (Chris) Haar of Ceresco, Nebraska, Nikki (Jessica) Loos and Stacey (Blaine) Bergantzel of Lincoln, Nebraska; and twenty great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 6-8pm at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, NE. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 10am at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.
