Dorothy Mae Leeson

Dorothy “Dottie” Leeson (Schnuelle) died on August 4, 2018 in The Woodlands, TX due to natural causes. She was 88. Dottie was born on February 18, 1930 in Beatrice, NE to her parents, Otto and Louise Schnuelle. She graduated from Lincoln General School of Nursing in 1952. She married Jack Baker in 1952. They settled in Grand Island in 1954 where Dottie began work at Lutheran and Veteran’s Hospitals as a registered nurse. She dedicated her remaining time to raising three daughters. Dottie was characterized by her friendliness through all her life stages. She was an avid reader and had a sharp wit and mind. She achieved her Bachelor of Science in nursing in her fifties from Kearney State College.

Dottie is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Jean and Don Duff of Lincoln, NE; her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Mike Goode of Scottsdale, AZ; her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Bill Lambert of The Woodlands, TX; her nine grandchildren; and her seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Vernon, Leonard and Lloyd; and her daughter, Peggy Cunningham.

Dottie will be buried in Lincoln, NE on August 11, 2018. A visitation and funeral service will take place on August 11 at 9:00 a.m. at Lincoln Memorial. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dottie’s life.
