Donald D Haase

He met his future bride Ruth Eaton, while attending Hastings College. They were married on August 23,1959, in North Platte, NE, and later moved to Lincoln, NE, in 1961. Together they raised two daughters: Kristy (Jeff) Clarke of Omaha, NE, and Koreen (Steve) Lush of Bellevue, NE.

Don worked for the Nebraska Department of Labor, rising through the ranks to his final position as Deputy Commissioner of Labor. He began there in 1962 and retired in 1995. Following retirement, Don kept busy as a handyman. He loved to hunt and fish, and took great pride in training his hunting dog, Dinah. He and Ruth also liked to travel. In 2015 they moved to Papillion, NE.

Preceding him in death was his wife Ruth on January 19th, 2024; parents; brother Ed Haase and sister-in-law, Patricia. In addition to his children, Don is survived by grandchildren Michelle (Todd) Pernicek, Katy Clarke, David Clarke, all of Omaha, NE; Gloria Lush, Englewood, NJ; Jason (Alexah) Lush, Papillion, NE; great-grandchildren Lily Ruth Pernicek and James Pernicek, Omaha, NE; Elora Nauman and Breelan Lush, Papillion, NE.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 1, 2024, at 12:00PM at Christ Lutheran Church, in Lincoln, NE. Private inurnment will be held at a later time. Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hillcrest Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association-NE Chapter.
