Dianne Wendt, 75, of Lincoln, passed away at St. Elizabeth with her spouse, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren at her side.
Dianne was born in Belleville, KS on April 17, 1948. Dianne graduated from Deshler High School atop her class in academics. Upon graduation, Dianne attended Business School in Omaha, NE graduating with a Business Administration degree and a specialty in Medical Transcription.
After Dianne’s arrival to Omaha, she met her husband, Daniel Wendt, who was stationed at Offutt AFB during his days in the military. They were married on September 2, 1967.
Dianne’s first job upon graduation was at Richard Young Hospital in Omaha, NE. She dove head first into her transcription career until Dan & Dianne moved back to Deshler, NE. When they returned to Deshler, Dianne worked at the Deshler Broom Factory as a Secretary.
The Wendt family later relocated to Lincoln and this is when Dianne started her career with St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center. She was employed for over 40 years at St. Elizabeth with roles including: Radiology Supervisor, Medical Transcriptionist, and Transcription Supervisor.
Dianne is survived by her husband, Dan; children, Paul Wendt, Matt (Carol) Wendt, and Shana (Larry) Warner; brother, Ray (Liz) Valek; sister, Pam (Ken) Degenhardt; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family.
She is preceded in death by parents, Ivan and Wilma Valek; nephew, Mark Degenhardt; grandparents, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, and friends. Dianne’s passion for her grandchildren was a love like no other. In her retirement she found a love for jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, word searches, and watching Law and Order SVU. Some would say her cats were more spoiled than her kids.
In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the family of Dianne for later designation.
