David "Dave" Allan Hayes

Dave left us on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at the age of 59. Dave was born on July 12, 1964 to Kenneth and Donna Hamilton Hayes in Lincoln, Nebraska. Dave graduated in 1982 from Lincoln Northeast High School. After graduation, Dave joined the Army National Guard and retired after twenty-seven years of service at the rank of Master Sergeant. Dave’s other passions included late nights at the roller skating rink or bowling alley with his family, watching the Huskers and Chicago Bears play football, coaching his kids’ various sports teams when they were growing up, listening to and sharing many different types of music with his family and friends, and later in his life spending time with his grandkids.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Cheryl Hayes; children, Justin (Elizabeth) Hayes, Jarrett (Bryanna) Hayes, Alyssa Hayes, Cameron (fiancée Caitlin Mattison) Hayes, Carsten (Allie) Hayes, Aubrey Hayes, and Kenzy Hayes; grandchildren, Rylee Hayes, Alijah Carr, Olivia Hayes, Brooklynn Hayes, Rowyn Hayes, Rhaelynn Hayes, Colson Mattison, Aveijah Martin, and Aminjah Potts who will be here soon; and siblings, Mike (Deanna) Hayes, and Christopher Hayes.

Dave will be forever missed, loved, and never forgotten.

A visitation for David will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S 14th St., Lincoln, NE 68512. A celebration of life will occur Friday, December 1, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Heartlands Church, 10000 Yankee Hill Rd., Lincoln, NE 68526. Burial to follow at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.
