Barry Jackson was a big part of my adolescence. He was an ambitious but modest sidekick for many years and a friend for life.     Each visit of our hometown of Lincoln brings back many wonderful memories of Barry. 

The world is a better place because of Barry.  I hope someday our paths will cross again.

The few times we got to spend with Barry were good times that we’ll always remember.  He was a great father-in-law to our son and that meant a lot to us.  Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Doreen , Michael, Cindy and all the grandchildren.  May the good memories you have of Barry give you  comfort and peace to get you through this sad time.

Barry was a good brother.  Being 4 years older, he always had my back.  He was a tough kid from the beginning. If there was a dispute at the park across the street after school, it was always the other guy walking away with the bloody nose. My parents bought us boxing gloves....and he would let me hit him as hard as i could until he had enough and then the KO punch would come..that toughness went with him into the army, he was a war hero. Vietnam was awful and he didnt talk much about it, but was decorated, purple heart, gold star etc...he was the guy going down into the tunnels after the enemy......he also had a big heart for family and friends...with Doreen for 52+..is awesome...always enjoyed telling us about Michael and  Cindy and family....he even kept track of more distant relatives...he was our go to guy for updates and info on cousins etc..had great long term friends like Loren and Barb and many others....remember the stock car races from long ago and when he bought a '69 red Chevelle . 307...and you always knew where you stood, he was not afraid to tell anyone what he thought...that came in handy in  a very sucessful career too , im sure., When we were kids our aunt Pauline would babysit while the folks went out dancing etc..and one time Barry was doing something...and our aunt broke the yardstick used for punishment in those days....he can running out of the room..laughing and laughing..    

Barry was a good friend and we considered him and Doreen family.  He had a wicked sense of humor and would tell the best stories, keeping everyone laughing.  We cruised and celebrated holidays and enjoyed  our get togethers.  He and Doreen joined us every Sunday afternoon with our band, and he requested his favorites.  Afterwards, it was Sunday dinner at Denny’s with a bunch of us.  A running joke was trying to get Barry to Bingo.  His usual response was “nope” - he would call it his “ quality time” at home so he could get angry at the TV screen for whatever was happening.  We shared jokes, good and bad, and also the tough moments.  We’ll miss him terribly.  Our hearts are with Doreen especially and his family.
