Barbara Jean Walker

Barb was born on April 5, 1932 to Nick and Esther Petersen in Crab Orchard, NE. Married Duane L. Walker on August 4, 1950 and lived lovingly for the next 42 years until Duane’s death in 1992. Together they moved where the work took them, Bellevue NE, Goose Bay Labrador, Hamilton, MT, Nelson, NE, and Madison, NE to name just a few. In 1966 they bought a ranch in Corvallis, MT and shared the chores with Duane’s brother Donn and his wife Marcia children Kathy and Kim. Together they also owned a bar and restaurant. She believed those to be a most adventurous times.

They retired in 1987 and moved to Bella Vista, AR. There they built a lovely home so all could come visit and play golf. Both were avid bridge players and readers of books. They enjoyed being with and teaching games to kids and grandchildren. Barb’s wit and memory made her the person to talk with when recalling stories and family history.

Barb was preceded in death by both her parents, sister Vivian, her husband Duane, Aunt Rose Walker (Posie), Donn and Marcia Walker, her sister Maxine (Pete) and Bud Sage, brother Roger Petersen, grand daughter Erin and niece Barbette.

She is survived by sister Judy and husband Jack, sister Delores, four children Mark (Kathy), Matt (Jery), Cheryl and Mitch (Sondra), children and grand children. Ranch hands Kathy (John) and Kim (Duane) and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was loved and will be missed by all.
