Born October 20, 1931 to Charles and Lillian Glaman in Jewell, Iowa. Barbara graduated from Jewell High School and the University of Iowa with a degree in Economics in 1954. It was during this time that Barbara met her forever love, Dan.
Barbara worked as a fundraiser early in her career for the University of Iowa in Iowa City. Barb and Dan were married November 1, 1958 in Iowa City. The couple moved to Arkansas where Dan worked as art professor at University of Arkansas. During this time, Barbara managed the hospital gift shop and established a Girl Scout troop for special needs children.
Barb and Dan moved to Manhattan Kansas in 1971 where Dan was Dean of the College of Art at Kansas State University. In 1974, Barb and Dan moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where he served, supported by Barbara, as the Dean of the College of Art and Art History at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Barbara lived a full life. She enjoyed reading, playing cards with friends, entertaining and attending University events and Lied Center for Performing Arts. Barb and Dan had a generous and philanthropic nature donating to various organizations.
Barb is survived by her husband of 65 years Dan and three nieces. Preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, in-laws Mike and Laura Howard.
