Andrew was born February 22, 1929 in Fremont, Nebraska, to Dr. Hamilton Nesbit Morrow and Luella May (Oberg) Morrow. He died August 29, 2020 at home in Lincoln, Nebraska, shortly after learning of advanced cancer. He was 91.
He grew up in Fremont, graduating from high school in 1946. He attended the University of Nebraska and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design. He served as an apprentice to Joseph Lotto of Hardy Furniture Company, collaborated in a design business with Mansfield Furniture out of Malvern, IA, and then founded Morrow Interiors of Lincoln in 1961. He specialized in residential design. Andrew was an active member of ASID for many years, being elected a Fellow of ASID in 1976, serving on the National Council of Interior Design Qualification as an accreditation examiner of design education programs around the country.
Andrew married Margaret Mary Stoltenberg of Bennington, Nebraska, June 27, 1958. Their faith and church families were central to their life together, and led them to volunteer and serve in many ways in their church and the community.
Andrew served on boards for Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska for over 20 years, and was actively involved at First Lutheran. He and Margaret enjoyed and supported the arts in Lincoln and Omaha, attending concerts, the Lincoln Symphony, musicals, operas, and theater at the University, Wesleyan, the Community Playhouse, the Lied, and other community venues.
They were both life-long learners and loved to travel. They also enjoyed time and friends they met in Green Valley, AZ.
He is survived by his children, Megan Morrow, Molly (Morrow) Goninan and her husband, Brian, and Andrew C. (Drew) Morrow, all of Lincoln; grandchildren, Charles Mackey (foster grandson), Emma (Goninan) Newcomb & her husband Garin, Alaina Goninan, Maisie Morrow and Poppy Morrow, all of Lincoln; nieces and nephew, and cousins. Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and brothers, and his wife of 50 years, Margaret.
A funeral for immediate family only will be held Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Lincoln.
