After the death of her mother in 1939, Alvina and her brother were raised by their grandparents Frank and Anna Taborek in Dorchester, Nebraska. At a younger age her and her brother played in a band for the local dance halls.
She married Terry Remmers and resided in Firth Nebraska. In that union, they welcomed 3 children: Michael, Douglas and LeAnn. Alvina was one of the first women bus driver for Norris Public School.
She was a long time employee of Standard Meats where she retired early to take care of her son Douglas. She had a passion for Nebraska Volleyball, Basketball, puzzling and bowling.
Preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Alma Kalkwarf; grandparents Frank and Anna Taborek; uncle Frank and aunt Clara Bosak; children: Michael, Douglas and LeAnn Remmers-Hammers.
Survived by, son-in-law Bryce Hamner; grandchildren: Marcus, Emily and Casey Hamner and Chuck Fattig; cousins Larry, Jean Bosak; John Potter and nieces and nephews; special friends Pat Liming and Peg Jasa.
