She is preceded in death by her parents, Edmund Carl Mueller and Minnie D. Wachtel, and three of her siblings.
Liala was baptized as an infant, and at the age of 1½, moved with her family to Rapid City, South Dakota. In January of 1943, they relocated again, this time to Seattle, Washington. Liala graduated from Ballard High School in June of 1946 and went on to attend Metropolitan Business College while working at Fremont Electric Co.
In 1948, she moved to San Francisco, where she worked in secretarial roles for two furniture and office supply stores. It was in 1949 that Liala met her future husband, Hermal Russel Davis. They were married at St. Paulus Lutheran Church in San Francisco, where Liala played an active role in church life, helping with communion preparation and assisting with summer Bible school.
Throughout their marriage, Liala and Hermal were members of Lutheran Churches in San Francisco, Daly City, South San Francisco, Placerville, Cameron Park, and Rocklin.
Liala had a deep love for her church, her family, her friends, and flowers. She also enjoyed traveling, though she was not fond of flying, so many of her trips were made by automobile.
Liala is survived by her two daughters, Susan Lynn Pine and Carol Gwen Knight, as well as her sister, Elaine Linders, who resides in Deer Park, Washington, just outside of Spokane.
