Charles Filmore Dougherty was born September 7, 1932 and passed away from natural causes on February 9, 2021. He was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart, Ona Mae (Kimbrough) Dougherty, his brother Dennis (Denny) Dougherty, and his parents Theodore (Ted) and Catherine (Beaulieu) Dougherty.
He served his country as an Army Sergeant in the Korean War and as a Roseville Reserve Police Officer, and had retired from a lifetime of civil service at McClellan AFB. Charles was a sports fanatic, avid baseball and football memorabilia collector, and supported Lincoln High school athletics his entire life. He was a gifted baseball player, coach, and manager, and was fond of the San Francisco Giants and 49ers, as well as the Oakland A’s and New York Yankees, while Ona Mae loved the Padres.
He had a smile that lit up a room and a twinkle in his eye, and will be deeply missed by family and friends. Charles will be laid to rest beside his beloved Wife (Ona Mae) at the Lincoln Manzanita Cemetery.
“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not grow faint." ~Isaiah 40:31
