It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris A Burnett, of Spring City, PA, who passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday June 17, 2023. Doris (Bainbridge) Burnett, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister & friend, passed away just 2 months after her beloved husband, Michael Burnett. Born on the 4th of July, Doris embodied the spirit of independence and freedom. Throughout her life, she fought, just like a “firecracker”, for what she believed in. Her loyalty, determination and unwavering spirit were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Doris and Michael's love story began in high school, where they became inseparable. From those young and tender years, their connection grew and flourished, becoming a shining example of enduring love and commitment. Mike and Doris were married over 62 years, and together they raised two children, Michael Burnett Jr, wife, Kim Keefe Burnett, and Michelle Burnett-Field. They were blessed with five grandchildren, Gabriel, Kayley, Eric, Michael, and Matthew and two great grandchildren, Alea & Gabriel Jr. Doris is also survived by her brother, Barry Bainbridge (Valerie) and Sister-in-law Patricia Bainbridge wife of her late brother Samuel Bainbridge. She will be remembered as a beacon of laughter, love, and unwavering support—an inspiration to live life fully, embrace every moment, and fight for what one believes in.
Doris's vibrant sprit, genuine love and magnetic personality touched the lives of all who knew her. She had an incredible sense of humor that brightened the room and brought laughter to the faces of everyone around her. Her infectious laugh and quick wit created cherished memories that will be treasured by her loved ones.
Known for her nurturing nature, Doris was always there for her grandchildren and children, providing unwavering support and love. Her greatest joy came from playing with her grandchildren.
Throughout her life, Doris embraced adventure and the joy of meeting new people. She had a zest for life that led her to explore new places, whether it was spending winters in Florida or summers at the Jersey shore. Doris's warm and sociable nature allowed her to forge deep connections and leave a lasting impression on those she met along the way.
A life celebration will be held on July 8, 2023, at the Limerick Gardens Chapel, 44 Swamp Pike, Limerick, PA 19468 at 10:30. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in “Memory/Honor of Doris Burnett”: to “Unite for her”, a wonderful nonprofit organization, providing services for women currently battling breast and ovarian cancer.
