Terry E. Reynolds, 65, of Lima, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Lima Manor following years of acute illnesses. He was born December 10, 1951 to the late Herman E. Reynolds and Marilyn P. (Archer-Reynolds) Shipp of Bloomington, Indiana.
Terry graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1970 and attended several colleges and universities over the years including; Ball State in Muncie, University of Southern Indiana in Evansville and, most recently Indiana University in Bloomington where he completed his Bachelor degree.
Recently, Terry worked at JC Penney in Lima after relocating from Indiana after 20 years of service with the company. He was a hard worker who devoted 25 years in the alcohol/drug counseling and recovery community programs throughout several states: treatment centers in Evansville, Bloomington, and Lima; Corrections Officer at Indiana Department of Corrections in Plainfield, and Henderson County Detention Center in Kentucky as a Deputy Jailer. Terry also gave much of himself through volunteering with hospice, community centers, and 12-step organizations for over 40 years with 22 years acting as an active facilitator of a 12-step program in Lima.
Survivors include his daughter, Jalen K. Allen of Columbus, Indiana; two sisters, Pamela “Pam” Sullivan and Patricia “Pat” Reynolds both of Toledo, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his brother, James “Richard” Archer of Portland, Oregon.
Family and friends may call from 5 – 8 p.m. Friday, March 31 at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME in Lima and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (the time of the service) Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Second Baptist Church, 520 W. Spring Street, Lima, Ohio with Pastor Dr. Dennis Ward and Pastor Floyd Smith, Jr. officiating. Final resting place will be at Greenbriar Cemetery in Van Wert County, Ohio.
