Nancy Ann (Mrs. Claus) Wagner, 71, of Lima passed away 8:45 p.m. Saturday evening, September 29, 2018 at Lima Manor Nursing Home. She was born on August 1, 1947 in Lima to Edwin J. and Dorothy (Funni) Altenbach and they precede her in death. She had been married to Jerry Mechling and he passed away in 1985. On November 9, 1994, she married Larry H. Wagner and he survives her.
Nancy was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. She retired from Kmart after twenty-five years of service. She and her husband loved playing Santa and Mrs. Claus during the holidays. She also enjoyed drinking her morning coffee at Pat’s Donuts and Crème. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Larry; her stepsons, Todd A. and Keith E. Wagner both of Lima, five grandchildren, Adam (Kayt Kemper) Wagner, Bryan (Lindsey) Wagner, Amanda (Tyler Sutton) Wagner, Taylor Wagner and Amber (Austin) Lloyd and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, John K. (Deb) Altenbach, Paul J. (Cathy) Altenbach both of Lima, Sandra M. Altenbach of Lebanon, Virginia and Patricia L. (Fred) Zupka of Brunswick, Maryland; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. She had also been preceded in death by a brother, Michael Altenbach.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, at St. Rose Catholic Church with Father David Ross as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Gethsemani Mausoleum.
Family and friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018 at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME. Parish Wake Service will be Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
