.Jeffrey Allen Burns, 55 of Lima died 3:09 a.m. Thursday morning, October 28, 2010 at Lima Memorial Health Systems. He was born on August 26, 1955 in Lima to Harry & Marjorie (Stombaugh) Burns, Marjorie survives in Lima. He was previously married to Deborah McKnight.
Jeffrey was a 1973 graduate of Bath High School, a 1975 graduate of Northwestern Auto Mechanic’s School and a 2003 graduate of Lima Technical College with degrees in Nutrition and Activities Director. He was named Lima Consumer of the Year in 1998. He was a dialysis patient for five years at Lima Memorial Health Systems. He had been a diabetic since age 2 ½.
He worked for Connor Olds, Highs Welding, Tamarac Golf Course, the Buckeye Truck Center and had retired from Cherokee Hills Golf Course in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
He volunteered for years at the Lima Elderly Day Care Center. He loved the outdoors, gardening, hunting, fishing and trapping. He was an avid OSU and Cleveland Brown’s fan.
Jeffrey is survived by his mother, two brothers Danny (Catherine) Burns of Beeville, TX; Scott (Brenda) Burns of Cridersville; two nephews: Erik Burns of Seguin, TX, Jack Ferrante of Seaford, NY, Samantha Ferrante of Beeville, TX and his Aunt: Marylou Wells of Delphos, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his father Harry Burns, who died in 1967, his grandparents: Laurence and Gladys Stombaugh; Oliver & Margaret Barnum and his black lab Rambo.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Thomas Dearth officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends and family of the Burn’s may call Monday November 1, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home.
