James Mike M Sutherly

.James M. “Mike” Sutherly, 52, of Troy formerly of Lima, passed away Monday evening, January 4, 2016, at his mother’s residence. He was born November 18, 1963 to Jim (dec’d) and Cheryl (Post) Sutherly. His mother survives with his stepfather, Dave Hefner both of Elida. Mike was also preceded in death by a sister, Christy Lynn Sutherly.

Mike is survived by his children, Kayla Sutherly of Gibson City, IL, Jessica and Alan “A.J.” Sutherly both of Troy. He is also survived by a grandson, Gage, a sister, Jody (John) Rees of Perrysburg and their children, Jordan, Jensen and Jorey Rees; and his stepsiblings: David (Elaine) Hefner, Jr, Wendy (Ken) Bailey and April (Jerry) Gardner all of Elida.

Mike had been employed as a Maintenance Supervisor at Miami Valley Steel in Piqua. He attended Shawnee High School; he loved the game of golf, and is now teeing off with his father in heaven. He was an avid OSU Buckeye fan. He was a wonderful son and a dedicated father.

The family would like to thank Miami Valley Steel for their kindness and generosity during Mike’s brief illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at Noon, Thursday, January 7, 2016 at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Bill Cronk officiating and burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Family and friends may call Thursday 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Noon at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Westside United Methodist Church or to St. Rita’s Hospice.
