James Lee McDonald, 75 of Lima passed away 11:10 a.m. Monday, May 30, 2011 at Lima Manor Nursing Home. He was born on August 27, 1935 in Laurel, Mississippi to Abraham and Endie (Arrington) McDonald and they preceded him in death. On March 17, 1975 he married Charlene Skinner who died May 10, 2007. He was also preceded in death by the following siblings: Thelma Taylor, Selma McDonald, Dessie Mayo, Eva Mae Newell, twins: Curley and Earlie McDonald, Goldie McDonald and twins: Elijah McDonald & Gladys Banks.
Mr. McDonald retired from Waste Management as a Sanitation Engineer. He had also worked at Bradfield Community Center. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church. He was the youngest of ten children!
Mr. McDonald is survived by two daughters: Camille McDonald of Lithonia, GA, and Stephanie Jones of Lima, his stepchildren: Nina Cunningham of Lima, Toni Buycks of Dayton and Jeffrey (Velvet) Cunningham of Berea, OH. He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Jeffrey (Jennifer) Cunningham, Priscilla Cunningham, John Buycks, Chevon Cunningham and Derek Cunningham; four great grandchildren: Elijah, Eihan, Morrigan and Zion; a sister: Cora Minor of California, a beloved and cherished sister-in-law: Pauline McDonald of Columbus, OH and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 12 Noon, Saturday, June 4, 2011 at the Second Baptist Church 520 W Spring Street Lima, Ohio with the Rev. Dr. Dennis Ward, officiating.
Family and friends may call Saturday, June 4, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at 12 Noon at the Second Baptist Church where the family will be present from 11:00 a.m. until 12 Noon.
