Edward L. Shue, 95, of Lima, died at 5:00 p.m., Friday, October 31, 2014, in Lima Convalescent Home. He was born June 26, 1919, in Lima, Edward W. and Anna (Augustine) Shue who preceded him in death. On December 25, 1937, he married Marian L. Cook who preceded him in death on January 1, 1995.
Mr. Shue retired from Westinghouse on February 1, 1979, after 40 years of service in various management positions, including two years in Iran and three years in Venezuela.
He was a member of Southside Christian Church. He was a life member of Lodge No. 585 Free and Accepted Masons, a member of The Valley of Dayton Scottish Rite and a member of the Egypt Temple Shrine, Tampa, FL. He was also a life member of V.F.W. Post #1275 and B.P.O.E. Lodge #54 both of Lima. He also belonged to American Legion Post #96 and F.O.E. Aerie #370 both of Lima. He was a U.S. Navy combat veteran in World War II.
Ed was a true gentleman and a self-made man who will be missed by his two daughters: Beverly Ann Graham of Bellbrook and Joyce Lynn (Daniel) Forbes of Beavercreek; and his five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
Four sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
Viewing will be on Thursday, Nov. 6, from 10:00 a.m. until Noon at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, 506 N. Cable Rd., Lima, with services immediately following officiated by Rev. Wanda Werking. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
