Donna “Jean” Hollar, of Elida, died at 9:15 a.m., Friday, June 27, 2014, in her residence, on her 83rd birthday. She was born June 27, 1931, in Lima to Lawnie and Edith (Mechling) Kline, Sr. who preceded her in death. On Nov. 5, 1949, she married Russell “Wayne” Hollar, Sr., who preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 2008.
Mrs. Hollar was a stay at home mother and was a devoted, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved Ohio State football and basketball, and her little dog, Annie Joy. She enjoyed her flower garden and received many compliments from passersby. She enjoyed listening to and playing gospel music on her organ, very loudly, which is part of her being a born again Christian, and is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Surviving are her children: Russell (Tama) Hollar, Jr. of Cridersville, Steven (Karen) Hollar of Fryburg, Brian (Judy) Hollar and Pamela Hollar both of Lima, and Keith (Tracy) Hollar of Lafayette. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Stacie Ball, Russ (Jennifer) Myers, Aubrey (Robb) Cotter, Beth (Shaun) Garrett, Leslie (Nate) Vickery, Kurtis (Danielle) Hollar, Joshua Hollar and Justin Hollar. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren: Parker, MaKenna, Kailee, Marissa, Nila, Avery, Liam, Madison, Matthew, Lexi and Elli. Angelyn Kline, her only sister-in-law survives in Lima, plus many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by the following siblings: Lawnie “Bud” Kline, Delno Kline, and Lucille Kline. Her sister-in-law, Betty Kline is also deceased.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2014, in SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor Shawn Hurley officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
