Bryan M. “Mac” Ball, Sr., 70, of Spencerville passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Lima on January 5, 1945 to Oliver I. and Peggy J. (Phillips) Ball and they preceded him in death. On June 29, 1963, he married Mary Ann McKillip and she passed away on October 16, 2014, after fifty-one years of marriage. He is survived by his companion, Kay (Ribley) Treen.
Bryan is also survived by his children, Christal R. (Charles) Etzkorn of Spencerville, Bryan M. McMichael of Louisville, KY, Mindy M. (Aaron) Wehner of London, OH, and Brittany A. Ball of Lima. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Brooke (Barry) Schroeder, Lauren (Austin Clark) Etzkorn, Collin (Hannah) Etzkorn, Ivan Wehner, Maxton Wehner, Ava Wehner, Dakota Gibson, and Kari Paul . He also leaves his siblings, Larry (Kathy) Ball of Lima, Darrell I. (Janice) Ball of Lima, and Darlene Hart of Knoxville, TN.
A son Troy A. Ball and a sister, Connie West, also preceded him in death.
Mr. Ball was retired from the Pipefitters Local 776 Union. He was 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Spencerville Masonic Lodge # 306, Past Master of Acadia Lodge, he was a past volunteer firefighter for the Bath Fire Dept., and he was a FOPA member. He was a 1963 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School and a graduate of Purdue University. He was a Navy veteran serving aboard the U.S.S. Exultant as a radioman. He was also an avid outdoorsman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015, at St. Rose Catholic Church, with Father David Ross officiating. Entombment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, where V.F.W. Post 1275 will conduct military rites with the U.S. Navy.
Calling hours will be Friday, November 27, 2015 from 2-8 p.m. at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME.
