Bette Frankhouser, age 97, of Lima, died peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of February 6, 2019. Bette was born June 20, 1921, in Union County, OH to Jay S. and Ruth Rebecca (Houchard) Patch. On March 7, 1941, Bette married Eldon E. Frankhouser. Eldon preceded Bette in death on Jan. 19, 2014.
Surviving are Bette’s children: Barbara Lou (Gary A.) Staley of Harrod, Richard Patch (Julia Byrd) Frankhouser of Heathrow, Florida and Rebecca Sue (John H.) Blank of Weston; fifteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A son, Steven Edward Frankhouser; two great-grandchildren; and her three siblings, Mary Alice Schacherbauer, George Patch and Earl Jay Patch preceded her in death.
Bette was proud and thankful to be the mother of four and a homemaker. She had been an invaluable executive secretary for Mr. John Rudolph of Rudolph Foods. She was a longtime member of Westminster United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., in Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, with her grandsons-in-law officiating. Pastor James Neighbors will conduct closing prayers and graveside services in Salem Westminster Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, from Noon until 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
