Alice Corrine Hughes, 80, of Lima passed away 5:15 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Lost Creek Care Center. She was born on June 15, 1933 in Lima to Lawrence C. and Dorothy (Ruth) Dingledine and they preceded her in death. On June 1,1951 she married Harold Hughes and he survives her.
She is survived by her children: Harold L. Hughes, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, Lawrence C. Hughes of Adairville, Kentucky, Christopher (Becky) Hughes of Lima and Victoria Kathryn Hughes also of Lima. Alice is also survived by nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, her siblings: Jerry Dean Dingledine, Janet Hunter. She was preceded in death by her sister Mary Lou Dunlap a brother: Larry Dingledine, two brothers-in-law William Dunlap and George Hunter and a sister-in-law: Shelba Dingledine .
Mrs. Hughes worked as a companion for a person with HIV, she had been at one time a nurse’s aide. She loved her family, gardening and shopping. She was a wonderful homemaker, wife and mother. She was involved in the starting of the Perry Township Emergency Services.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2014 at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Terry Brock, officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2014 at SIFERD-ORIANS FUNERAL HOME.
