April 14, 1979 – March 8, 2024
Todd’s first sentence was “want to do all by self”. And that’s how he lived his short life.
Todd grew up in Madison, New Jersey, Atlanta, Georgia and Rumson, New Jersey. After high school he explored various options for several years and ended up at Georgetown University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in English. He worked at American University for many years teaching technology courses, upgrading the technology in the University Library and working in the Law School Information Technology Department. He learned to love cooking at an early age. He never met a stranger he couldn’t talk with and he was both charming and articulate. Later he moved back to Atlanta, Georgia and passed away on March 8, 2024. He is now at peace.
Todd is survived by his mother, Joan Moseley Spainhour, his father Stephen Gilbert Chappell along with his wife Margaret Ann Chappell. Todd left behind loving aunts and uncles including Barbara Moseley Morrison, Susan Chappell Langford, and James E. Butler, Jr. He also predeceased several cousins including Charles Richard Morrison, Lynne Morrison Middleton, James E. Butler III, Emily Butler Patteson, and Catherine Butler Gunter. He also leaves behind his beloved cats, Mrs. Patmore and Daisy.
A celebration of Todd’s life will be scheduled in the near future.
