Samuel "Sam" Elijah Jenkins

born September 9, 1940 in Florence, SC to the late Hoyt Jenkins and Rosanna Jones. He graduated from

Scott High School in North Braddock, PA.

Sam trusted in the finished work of Jesus Christ. He recently rededicated his life to the Lord and lived

out his faith humbly before those that knew him.Sam was a veteran. He served his country during the Vietnam war in the United States Army. After leaving the Army, Sam had a rewarding career with Westinghouse Electric.

In September 1981, Sam married Lucille Jones. He relocated to Plano, TX, where he worked for the Plano

Independent School District (ISD) as a bus driver. In August 2014 Sam retired from Plano ISD and

relocated to Duluth, GA.

He was an avid sports fan and could be often found wearing his beloved Steelers’ hat.

Sam was preceded in death by wife Lucille, bonus daughter Lisa Rhone, and sister Ruby Barnett.

Sam leaves to cherish his memory daughters, Vermeda Brown, Revenia Anderson, and Carmen “Nikki”

Jenkins; grandchildren, Jamaryl “Coach” Matthews, Gage Aldridge, Terrill Smith, Antasia Anderson, Tarik

Jenkins Jefferson, and Paetyn Jenkins Singleton; great grandchild, Malaysia Anderson; bonus daughter,

Karla (Ramous) Fields; bonus grandchildren, Maryah and Demetris (Alissa) Fields; bonus greatgrandchildren, Tessa and Rylynn Fields; sister, Mary Jenkins; aunt, Clarice Lewis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
