Marchell Peck

Marchell “Marc” Peck, age 79, of Lilburn, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016. He was born in Hinch, WVa on March 28, 1937. Spending his childhood and young adult life in West Virginia, he joined the USAF in 1955. In June of 1957 he married the love of his life, Nancy Jo French. Marchell and Nancy just celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this past June. In 1959, he left the USAF and joined the USN were he spent a total of 20 years of service and a tour in Vietnam, retiring in 1975. The next 20 years he began working for the State of Georgia, Department of Human Resources and retired in 1995.

Marchell is survived by his wife, Nancy Jo; 5 children, Susan Peck, Michelle Peck, Marchell “Marc” Peck II and Jessica Peck all of Lilburn, Georgia. Felipe Concepcion of Woodstock, Georgia; Melissa Jo Cox of Loganville Georgia; 6 grandchildren, Amanda and Collin Elder, Lauren and Noah Kew, Brice Cox and Cayden Ramsey.

Marchell has a large extended family from all over the United States. Lana and Gail Shrader of Raleigh, NC, David and Beverly Cox of Mullens WVa, Tommy and Cynthia Cox of Tunnel Hill GA, Danny Martin of Kodak, TN. Countless cousins, nieces and nephews.

Marchell is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ballard and Fannie Peck, his mother Helena Peck, Carlos and Josephine Moore (Aunt/Uncle), Glen and Gladys Oros (Aunt/Uncle), Howard and Betty Cox (Aunt/Uncle), Janice Cox Martin (cousin), Billy and Anthony Oros (cousins), Karen Marcatillio (cousin), William and Nannie French (father/mother in-laws), Bill and Cecille Newsome (brother/sister in-law), and Geraldine Gibson (sister in-law).

Celebration of life reception will be held at the family home in Lilburn, GA on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 1pm and memorial celebration of life will be held at Advantage Funeral home in Lilburn on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 10 am.
