Jeremiah “Jerry” Taylor, 41, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, April 21st, 2024. Born on September 26th, 1982, in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of Sherry Taylor-James and Floyd Taylor, Jerry lived a full and vibrant life and touched the lives of many people along the way. He was also very reflective, as his favorite saying every morning was “The birds are happy”. To know Jerry, was to remember he was the life of the party and whose laugh was contagious. And when we picture him, his sweet dimpled smile will be remembered most.
After completing his education at Meadowcreek High School in Norcross, Georgia, Jerry went on to work various jobs in the food industry where his passion for cooking was fostered. He was so enthusiastic about cooking, he would often juggle working at 2 or 3 restaurants at a time; earning him numerous accolades and forms of recognition. Jerry was also fluent in Spanish.
Of the many positions and roles he held, his favorite and most cherished role was being “Girl Dad” to his beautiful daughter, Laila.
Jerry leaves to cherish his memory: his pride and joy, daughter Laila Taylor of Georgia; his loving mother, Sherry Taylor-James of Norcross, Georgia; his devoted father, Floyd Taylor of Kansas City, Missouri; his loyal and forever brother, Joshua James of Lawrenceville, Georgia; his committed step-father, Albert “Pops” James of Norcross, Georgia; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whom all loved him dearly.
