Susan Fay Doney Lento

She was the daughter of the late Roy Elkins Doney and Shirley Jean Bickler Doney of Akron, Ohio.

Surviving are her husband, Dan Lento, of the home; daughter, Gina Lento, of Siler City; sons, Jayson Lento and wife Holly, of Boone, and Michael Lento, of Raleigh; three grandchildren, Anthony "Tony" Hefner, Carmen Hefner, and Melanie Seawell, of Siler City; brother, Jim Doney, of Kent, Ohio; and niece, Erin Ewell and family, of Garrettsville, Ohio. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Buddy and cat, Licorice.

Susan graduated from Ellet High School in 1973 in Akron, Ohio. In 1976, she married her husband, Dan, and they lived in many places including Barberton, Ohio, Dearborn Heights, Michigan, and Des Plaines, Illinois before moving to Mocksville, North Carolina and finally, Siler City. Susan loved children, and she was a Girl Scout Leader and Daycare Teacher at WesCare Daycare in Siler City. The children couldn't say Susan, so they started calling her "Soup." She was always involved and wanted to help where her children went to school.

Susan's ashes will be placed at Greenlawn Cemetery in Akron, Ohio. She will be missed very much by many.

The family would like to thank Lynn Pike and family for all of the help they gave during her illness, and also the wonderful staff at Wake Forest Baptist Health for the care they gave her.
