Shelly was the son of the late Jack Patterson and Melinda Josephine Smith Patterson Wilson. He leaves behind his wife, Janice White Patterson; daughter, Kimberly Patterson Hall (Eric); grandchildren, Shelly Hall Kivett (Travis), Jon-Eric Hall (Montgomery), Wendy Hall Mitchell (Chad); and great-grandchildren, Addison Kivett, John Kivett, Isabella Kivett, James-Ellis Hall, Joanna Hall, Mackenna Mitchell, and Camden Mitchell.
Shelly was a man of many words and immense love. A few of his favorite things were going on adventures, sweets, and his wife, Janice. He traveled by plane, RV, and car— going to Ocean Isle Beach, NC was his favorite destination. Requesting homemade ice cream, frappes, or banana pudding after a full course meal is what he’s known for at his family’s dinner table. Shelly was a special part of the community; he loved Liberty and built a life there. He owned the local grocery store, a car lot, and worked at the local elementary school. He loved all of his students as if they were his own. Shelly was the biggest champion of anyone he got behind. He made everyone feel special. Shelly was a father and grandfather like no other, he loved his family immeasurably, however, his love and devotion for his wife,Janice, was unmatched. He loved the Lord and never failed to tell everyone how great his God is.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Assembly of God, 909 Meadowbrook Road, Asheboro, NC 27203.
