A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel, 212 W. Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty, NC 27298. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. before the service. Burial will be following the service at Dr. Clyde M. Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian.
Ruby was the daughter of the late Rez Tison Layton and Mamie Ester Coble Layton.
She leaves behind her husband, Larry O’Briant; son, Mike O’Briant (Holly); daughter, Wendy Hinshaw (Mike); grandchildren, Robin Michelle Moore, William Thomas O’Briant, Sr., and Jacob Hinshaw; and great-grandchildren, William Thomas O’Briant, Jr., Reagan Anne Mashburn, Brock Moore Mashburn and Hudson Wayne Mashburn.
