He graduated from Nashville Diesel College in 1966 and retired from Ryder Truck Rentals after 41 years of service. Earl went on to work for Pilgrim's for seven years in their truck shop. He was a volunteer for Staley Volunteer Fire Department for 40 years. He was a member of Piney Grove Methodist Church.
He was the son of the late F.D. and Mary Lane McMasters and was preceded in death by his brother, Terry McMasters.
Earl is survived by his wife of 56 years, Clara Brooks McMasters; daughter, Donna Hooker (Robbie); son, Lee McMasters (Laurie); grandchildren, Blaine Hooker (Holly Roberts), Blair Hooker, Walker McMasters and Logan McMasters.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty, 212 W. Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty, NC. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Piney Grove Methodist Church, 2343 Piney Grove Church Road, Siler City, NC. He will be laid to rest in Piney Grove Methodist Church Cemetery.
