A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty First Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Brian Harrington; burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Raymond served his country as a WWII Army Veteran and was retired from The Liberty Chair Company.
He is the son of the late Raleigh Ben, Sr. and Rebecca Inman Arrington and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Garrett Arrington; two sisters, Ruby Lankford and Faye Fox and three brothers, Hassal, Gaston, and R.B. Arrington, Jr. “Speedy”.
Surviving is his wife of 33 years, Margel Baker Arrington of the home; one daughter, Deborah A. Garrett of Liberty; one son, Dale Arrington of Liberty; two step-daughters, Marlene Lankford (James) of Liberty and Geneva Lunsford of Kernersville; one brother, Curtis Lee Arrington “Speedy” and wife, Mary of Liberty; one sister, Helen A. Edwards of Burlington; two grandchildren, Jessica and Patrick Arrington; two great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Liberty First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 815, Liberty, NC 27298 or to Hospice of Randolph County, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27203.
