Leroy was a proud veteran of the US Navy. He spent many years working alongside his in-laws on their family farm and while working at Newman Machine Company where he retired after more than 30 years of service. He loved spending time at Holden Beach with family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home of Liberty. A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. at Dr. Clyde M. Gilmore Memorial Park, 6500 Liberty Road, Julian, NC.
He was the son of the late Hodgin and Mable Loflin Ferree and was also preceded in death by his wife, Bonalean "Bonnie" Hicks Ferree; and sons, Scott Ferree, Jr., Gregory Ferree and Roger Ferree.
Leroy is survived by his sons, Wesley Ferree and Craig Ferree; daughter-in-law, Rita Ferree; grandsons, Derek Ferree, Matthew Ferree and wife, Paula, and Hunter Ferree; great-grandchildren, Alysa Ferree and Phillip Ferree.
