Janice Marie Patterson Shelton

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Loflin Funeral Home, 212 West Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Mt. Olivet Wesleyan Church, 1093 Mt. Olivet Church Rd., Liberty; burial will follow the service at Dr. Clyde M. Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian.

Janice was the daughter of the late Sadie Hazel Willet Patterson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Earl Shelton, and two brothers, Bobby Patterson and Gerald Patterson.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons, Kevin Shelton and his wife, Jan, and Chris Shelton and his wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Jack Shelton and his wife, Kylie, Anna Hooks and her husband, Lucas, Claire Shelton and Andrew Shelton; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Avery and Della Shelton; and sister, Sharon Walker.

Janice was a long-time member of Mt. Olivet Wesleyan Church and proudly served her church as pianist for many years. She was known for her kindness to others and always a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law and “Granny”.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Olivet Wesleyan Church: 1093 Ferguson Road, Liberty, NC 27298.
