The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home, 212 West Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty.
A native born and raised in Guilford County, Jamie attended Southeast High School and became a brick mason in his early years. Later, he worked as a Pool Technician for several years. Jamie enjoyed hunting, and he even invented the Smith Hunting Pal, a hunting blind that has been sold all over the eastern United States. Other hobbies Jamie enjoyed were fishing and playing softball.
Jamie leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 25 years, Rhonda Sparks Smith; parents, James Ross Smith Jr. and Gaynelle Holder Smith; daughters, Miranda Motsinger (Steven), Candice Reynolds, and Stephanie McLaughlin (Grayling); son, Steven Amick Jr.; sister, Angela Peeler (Mike); brother, Jeffery Smith; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
