Howard Jeffus Martin

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Liberty.

He was the son of the late Howard Lee and Wilma Moorefield Martin and was also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Sarah “Betty” Coble Martin; brother, Calvin Martin; and sister, Linda Coble.

Jeff leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters, Kim Black (Tim) and Jackie Canoy (Ricky); grandsons, Jeffrey Black and Kevin Canoy (Courtney); great-granddaughter, Charlotte Canoy; sister, Wanda Martin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

“Jack of all trades, master of none” is how Jeff was best described. He could fix anything if he put his mind to it. Over the years, Jeff had many jobs, but he was best known for being a diesel mechanic. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching NASCAR.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the care provided to Jeff by the nurses and staff at Ramseur Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
