She was a kind and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Grays Chapel United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Doug Miller; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was the daughter of the late Henry and Beaulah Garrett Hackett and was also preceded in death by her husband, Elsworth “Punk” Davis; a son, John Davis; a sister, Irene Davis and a daughter-in-law, Ruby Davis.
Elsie is survived by her three sons, Roger Davis of Julian, Terry Davis and wife, Lee of Climax and Sylvan “Sid” Davis and wife, Sharon of Climax; a sister, Maxine McDaniel of Greensboro and a brother, Rev. William “Billy” Hackett of Conway, SC; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to Ms. Classie Cheek for the best care possible she provided to Mrs. Davis.
