He enjoyed fishing, tinkering outdoors and loved to go camping, especially at the beach. He was a member of First United Church of Christ in Liberty. He was an active member of his community, serving the community as Assistant Chief with over 23 years of service with the Liberty Fire Department and was a member of the Current Fire Fighters Relief Fund and was a paramedic with Randolph County EMS. He was a Life Member of Liberty Masonic Lodge #714 AF&AM where he was a 3-time Past Master and was also a Past Worthy Patron of Liberty Eastern Star #66 and served as Past Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop #502. He was Past President of the Band Boosters at Eastern Randolph High School. Most of all, his pride and joy was his family; Randy was his girls’ biggest fan, a constant cheerleader who could always be heard cheering for them.
