Ben Ray was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He was a dedicated employee to Stout Trucking for over 40 years and a faithful, life-long member of Pleasant Grove Wesleyan Church. He enjoyed spending time outside on his farm looking after his cows and sitting around Teague's Store talking with friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Rocky River Friends Meeting, 1795 Staley Snow Camp Road, Siler City, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Rocky River Friends Meeting. The family will host a reception following the service in the church fellowship hall.
He was the son of the late William Joseph and Mattie Jones Poe and was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda Ann Poe and son, Brian Ray Poe.
Ben Ray is survived by his son, William Carl Poe; grandchildren, Cody Ray Poe, Zach Poe (Megan), and Tyson Poe (Jennifer); great-granddaughter, Ali Rae Poe; brother-in-law, Jr. Poe (Barbara); sisters-in-law, Diann Ellison (Thomas) and Debra Routh (Greg).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Wesleyan Church, 3275 Piney Grove Church Road, Siler City, NC 27344.
