Barbara McMurray Elliott

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Dodson officiating; burial follow the service at Fairview Cemetery in Liberty.

Barbara was the daughter of the late Robert Huey McMurray and Emma Joyce McCollum McMurray. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Clayton Elliott and her son, Charles Clayton Elliott.

She is survived by her sisters, Mary Joyce Colvard and Sylvia Jean McMurray of St. Augustine, FL; Shelia McMurray and Kim McMurray Trivette of Atlanta, GA.; brothers, Shane McMurray of Arizona and Robert Huey McMurray, Jr. of Pensacola, FL. Also surviving are Helen Crosby, Janet Crosby, William (Billy) Crosby of Rock Hill, SC; her Aunt Dot and Uncle Gene; and many nieces and nephews.

Barbara worked many years for AT&T where she retired. She was a member of Richland Gospel Baptist Church in Liberty where she loved to attend and enjoyed her church family. Barbara loved her family and had a special love for her cats. She loved to laugh and have a good time. She was a very strong and independent woman and was so until the end.
