William “Bill” Elliot Moore, 64, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away at home on April 12, 2025, with his beloved wife of 16 years by his side. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 3, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Corner Bar, 200 East Kansas Street, Liberty, Missouri 64068. A Celebration of Life will also be held in Bill’s hometown of Janesville on May 17, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Fast Eddy’s Eats, 1704 Rockport Rd, Janesville, Wisconsin 53548.
Bill was born on December 25, 1960, to George and Catherine “Kay” Moore in Janesville, Wisconsin. He was Janesville born and raised, and that’s where he met the love of his life, Laura Burg. In August of 2009, they moved to Liberty, Missouri to pursue a job opportunity for Laura with General Motors, and Bill brought his business as a master mechanic with him. They would travel back to Wisconsin to marry in Green Bay on December 27, 2009. Laura also gave Bill two bonus kids through their marriage, John and Cody.
Bill was well known for his talents around cars and motorcycles. As a young man, he worked on a NASCAR pit crew and later became a master mechanic. He started his own business with his mechanical knowledge and was always happy to help friends and loved ones any time they had car trouble. He also enjoyed racing motorcycles, winning several awards in the process, and was a major Harley fan. Between his willingness to help anyone who needed it and the fantastic people he met through his work and hobbies, Bill’s house was always filled with friends and became a gathering place for all. Bill formally retired in 2023, but he never stopped offering a hand to anyone who needed it.
Besides working on cars and bikes, bill also enjoyed canoeing and tubing on creeks, golfing, and watching football and baseball. His favorite teams were the Packers and Royals, but he also supported the Chiefs and Milwaukee Brewers when the Packers or Royals weren’t playing against them.
Bill will be deeply missed by all those who loved him, but especially by his wife, Laura.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, George and Kay; and his father-in-law, Louis Burg.
Bill is survived by the love of his life, Laura Moore; his sons, John and Cody Burg-Jenson; his siblings, Steve (Barbie) Moore of Arena, WI, Marjorie (Steve) Ainsworth of Oklahoma City, OK, Bob (Jennifer) Moore of Gleason, WI, Tom (Jane) Moore of Zimmerman, MN, and Shirley (Andy) Rensink of Stockholm, WI; his mother-in-law, Nancy (Al) Burg; his siblings-in-law, Rick (Lisa) McCue of Fort Atkinson, WI, Chris (LuCinda) Hanson of Maple Grove, MN, and Nathan (Sarah) Burg of Green Bay, WI; his grandchildren, Elena Burg-Jenson and Jack Jenson; his best friend since childhood, Tim Zeilinger; his special nephew, Chad (Colleen) Moore; as well as many other nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and loved ones.
