Robert Wiley Craig, 70, of Lathrop, MO, passed away August 3, 2021. A visitation will be held from 10:30-11:30am, Monday, August 23rd with memorial services to follow at 11:30am, all at Church Archer Pasley Funeral Home, 119 E. Franklin St., Liberty, MO. We will ride to Higginsville Veterans Cemetery, 20109 Business Highway 13, Higginsville, MO 64037, for a 2:00pm committal service with honors.
Robert was born June 14, 1951 in Carrolton, MO to Thomas and Marjorie Craig. He graduated from Brookfield High School in 1969. In 1970, Robert enlisted in the National Guard and then entered the Air Force and was sent to Vietnam. After his honorable discharge from the military, he started work with Southwestern Bell, where he worked for over 25 years until his retirement. Robert was joined in marriage on December 5, 1980 to the love of his life, Debra Williams. They raised a family of five children in the Liberty area. They moved to Lathrop in 2018.
He enjoyed riding his Harley whenever he had the chance. Robert was a former Commander of the VFW Post #4043, participated in the funeral tributes, and was very active in the community. He played keyboard in the band the “No Booze Brothers,” and was very proud of his 37 years of sobriety. Robert was active in AA and loved to bake pies. He was a family man and loved his children and grandchildren more than anything.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Marjorie Craig; his brother, Thomas Craig; and his sister, JoBeth Lowderman.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Craig; his children, Elizabeth Schoch, Jonathan Schoch, Christina Craig, Christopher Craig (Rian), and Daniel Craig; his eleven grandchildren, Hannah, Jacob, Isabelle, Sophia, Madilyn, Bobby, Wyatt, Chase, Autumn, Landon, and Marly; his sister, Christine Craig; as well as other relatives and friends.
